As the largest parade of its kind in the region, the Nelson City Santa Parade does not need much introduction, this year to be held on Sunday December 2nd, from 1pm, Nelson CBD.
What it does need is involvement and support from you, individuals and organizations that are active in any way in the community in the Nelson region.
The Nelson City Santa Parade and Christmas Carnivale at Founders have now become a full day's event offering entertainment, food and fun for families and a chance to celebrate and connect with neighbors and friends.
The Santa Parade heralds the start of the Christmas season, we celebrate old and new connections, new life, new beginnings.
I invite you to join us!
BE THERE
Come and join the parade! Take this opportunity and dress up in your brightest colors with family and friends. Participate and encourage others who participate in the Parade and come together at Founders park after the Parade to enjoy each others costumes and company. Prizes will be awarded for best efforts and creativity.
HELP OUT
The unsponsored floats need managing and manning. Each year the Santa Parade committee volunteers dedicate days of their time to tidy up the trust owned floats. Here is another opportunity to be involved in the Parade.
PARTAKE
The Christmas Carnival at Founders park offers entertainment, food and refreshments, a possibility to participate with a stall offering appropriate products such as used toys etc. Please contact me if you have any ideas.

Help Out on the Day
We invite organizations with active members to help us run the Parade and Carnival smoothly. We need traffic marshals, a balloon blowing and distribution crew, MS Ford Christmas Carnivale site crew etc.
This could be a way to be involved in the parade and carnival and contribute to the community. This could be a chance to do some fund raising for a charity or an appropriate organization. Please email us if you would like to help.
